Torwoodlea Lodge is located on Torwoodlea Farm near New Hanover in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The lodge is situated in the Natal Midlands on a working sugar cane farm.

Is Torwoodlea Lodge a wedding venue?

Yes. Torwoodlea Lodge is a wedding and event venue offering a country setting for wedding ceremonies, receptions and accommodation. Couples can make use of the decks overlooking the dam or the enchanted forest setting for their ceremony.

Can Torwoodlea Lodge host private events?

Yes. Torwoodlea Lodge caters for private events, celebrations and parties, as well as weddings and corporate events.

Can Torwoodlea Lodge host corporate events?

Yes. The venue is suitable for corporate events and group functions. Packages can be discussed according to the requirements of your event.

What facilities are available for weddings and events?

Wedding packages can include exclusive use of the lodge for the duration of the booking, an air-conditioned function hall, private bar, furnished deck overlooking the dam, catering kitchen, cold room, braai facilities, jacuzzi, children’s playground, fishing, game viewing and bird watching.

The venue also provides handicapped access to the hall and toilet facilities and gate-access security during stays.

Does Torwoodlea Lodge offer accommodation?

Yes. Torwoodlea Lodge offers accommodation for wedding, event and weekend getaway guests.

How many people can the main cottage accommodate?

The main cottage can accommodate up to 6 people and includes an air-conditioned lounge.

Are there smaller cabins available?

Yes. Cabin 2 has a queen-size bed, en-suite bathroom, coffee-making facilities and a bar fridge and sleeps 2 people.

Cabins 3 and 4 each have a queen-size bed, bunk beds, an en-suite bathroom, coffee-making facilities and a bar fridge. Each cabin sleeps up to 4 people.

Is additional accommodation available?

Yes. Additional accommodation options include Torwoodlea House and the Private Chalet.

Torwoodlea House is suitable for wedding and event guests and has gardens and a pool area.

The Private Chalet has one room with a queen-size bed and bunk bed and can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children.

Does Torwoodlea Lodge offer camping?

Yes. Torwoodlea Lodge has camping and caravan sites with water and electricity points and an ablution block. Additional camping sites may also be available for certain packages.

Weekend Getaways

Does Torwoodlea Lodge offer weekend getaways?

Yes. Weekend getaway packages are available for friends, families and colleagues and can be customised to suit the group.

How long is the weekend getaway package?

The standard weekend getaway package includes exclusive use of Torwoodlea Lodge for 2 nights.

What is included in a weekend getaway?

Depending on the package, facilities can include accommodation, use of the private pub, catering kitchen, braai facilities, deck with roller blinds, children’s playground, fishing, game viewing and bird watching.

Optional extras can include a cold room, canoes and oars, additional camping sites and a backup generator.

Can guests go fishing at Torwoodlea Lodge?

Yes. Fishing is available at the lodge, with canoes and oars available depending on the package or arrangements made with the venue.

Is Torwoodlea Lodge suitable for children?

Yes. The venue has a children’s playground and provides a country environment suitable for families and group getaways.

Is the venue accessible for guests with disabilities?

The function hall and toilet facilities provide handicapped access.

Does the lodge have a backup generator?

A backup generator is available as an optional extra for certain packages. Please confirm availability when making your enquiry.
